PA-8018-G
AWS Specification: AWS A5.5 E8018G
JIS Specification : Z3241 DL5016-6AP1
Other Spcification: NONE
I. APPLICATIONS:
Welding of 55kgf/mm2 class high tensile strength steel for ships, bridges, buildings, and boilers.
II. DESCRIPTIONS:
PA-8018-G is an iron powder low hydrogen type electrode, and provides good usability with direct current applications in all-positions. The weld metal has good crack resistability and X-ray soundness. Also it is suitable for multi-layer fillet welding in large leg length.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Dry the electrodes at 300-350ºC for one hour before use.
-
Take the backstep method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared to prevent blowholes at the arc starting.
-
Keep the arc as short as possible.
