PA-8016-B1
AWS Specification: AWS A5.5 E8016-B1
JIS Specification: NONE
Other Specification: NONE
I. APPLICATIONS:
Welding of 0.5% Cr-0.5% Mo steel used for high temperature and high pressure boilers, chemical and oil refining industries.
II. DESCRIPTIONS:
PA-8016-B1 is a low hydrogen type electrode for all-position welding, which provides the weld metal 0.5% Cr-0.5% Mo. The crack is resistibility of the weld metal is excellent.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Dry the electrodes at 325-375ºC for about one hour before use.
-
Preheat at 125-250ºC and postheat at 620-680ºC.
-
Adopt back step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared for this particular purpose to prevent blowholes at the arc starting.
-
Keep the arc as short as possible.
